The club was formed in 1994 to meet the needs of members who had retired, worked shifts, or just found weekend searches either impractical or inconvenient, due to family committments. It is, in essence, a mid-week club and searches are usually held each Thursday. Most of our members have been detecting for many years and are very knowledgeable about local history, metal detectors, coins and artefacts of all ages. They are more than pleased to help members who are new to the hobby.
